Atomic's 2012 Hatchet made for the Japanese market is very similar to the North American Hatchet, meaning it is an advanced all-mountain snowboard for strong and agressive riders--but there are a few differences: Firstly, the graphic for the Hatchet JP is different, some might say awesomer; and Secondly, the board is spec'd out for a heavier brand of powder and hardpack snow (i.e. Japanese coastal snow). What does this mean to you, someone who doesn't live in Japan? It means that the Hatchet JP and Hatchet NA can be used largely in the same capacity, upper-end All-Mtn riders, but if your mountain is more likely to have heavy snow or hardpack, perhaps the Hatchet JP is more finely tuned to your needs. Can't lose either way, these both Hatchets are full of win. Like literally max capacity of win.
